The RAC RP3 LED Position Indicator (Rudder version) is a cockpit-mounted 10-LED position display used to indicate the real-time position of a rudder trim servo or position sensor system. It is part of the Ray Allen trim indication system and provides visual feedback of control surface or servo travel.

The unit displays position using a linear LED bar (10 segments) driven by a 5-wire connection from a compatible position sensor or servo. As the rudder trim actuator moves, the LEDs illuminate sequentially, showing direction and magnitude of movement.

It is designed for installation in light aircraft and experimental aircraft trim systems, and is typically paired with Ray Allen servo actuators and position sensors. The indicator can be dimmed for night operation and mounted in either horizontal or vertical orientation depending on panel layout.

The RP3 is an earlier-generation model, later largely replaced by the RP4, but it remains widely used in existing installations.
