The Sky-Tec C12ST2 is a lightweight 12-volt aircraft engine starter designed for Continental piston engines using factory key-start configurations. It is part of the Sky-Tec ST2 series and features a long-nose design that allows direct replacement of legacy Prestolite starter systems without extensive engine modification.

This starter incorporates Sky-Tec’s internal Kickback Protection System (KPS), which helps protect the starter and engine ring gear from damage during engine kickback events. The unit is engineered to provide higher cranking torque with lower current draw compared to older heavyweight starters, improving starting performance and reducing electrical system load.
