MS35649-205B – Nut (Alt. to AN340-B10)

Aerospace castellated (slotted) nut designed for use with drilled bolts and cotter pin or safety-wire locking systems. It provides a positive mechanical locking method for critical aircraft fastening applications where resistance to vibration, cyclic loads, and loosening is essential. Manufactured to military specification MS35649, it is interchangeable with AN340-B10 hardware in approved aerospace assemblies.

Application:
Aircraft structural assemblies, landing gear components, control system linkages, engine accessory installations, and other aviation fastening points requiring castellated nuts with cotter pin or safety-wire retention

Function:
Provides a threaded fastening connection that is mechanically secured using a cotter pin or safety wire through the bolt hole, preventing rotation and loosening under vibration and operational stresses
