The MS20426AD4-10 is a 100° countersunk solid aircraft rivet made from 2117-T4 aluminum alloy (AD series), designed for structural aircraft sheet metal assemblies where a flush aerodynamic surface is required.
The “4” indicates a 1/8" diameter, while the “-10” dash number corresponds to a 5/8" length, making it suitable for slightly thicker sheet stacks than the -8 or -9 variants while still maintaining a flush exterior finish after installation.
This rivet is installed using a pneumatic rivet gun and bucking bar, with the head seated in a 100° countersunk hole. The shank is then formed into a shop head on the opposite side, creating a permanent structural joint commonly used in aircraft skins, fairings, and external aerodynamic panels.
The 2117-T4 (AD) alloy provides high shear strength (~26,000 PSI), good fatigue resistance, and built-in corrosion protection due to its self-aging properties after installation, making it a standard in certified aircraft construction and repair.
Key features include:
MS20426 100° flush head solid aircraft rivet
Size: 1/8" diameter × 5/8" length (-10 dash number)
Material: 2117-T4 aluminum alloy (AD series)
Approx. ~1200–1300 rivets per 1 lb pack
Flush (countersunk) head for aerodynamic surfaces
Requires 100° countersunk hole preparation
Installed with rivet gun + bucking bar (double-sided access)
High shear strength (~26,000 PSI typical)
Heat-treated self-aging aluminum alloy
Corrosion-resistant coating (MIL-spec chromate/anodize)
Common in aircraft skins, fuselage panels, and fairings
Used where smooth airflow and flush surface finish are critical
Standard replacement for AN426AD4-10 in aircraft maintenance
