It is manufactured from DuPont Viton® elastomer, a high-performance aerospace-grade material known for its excellent resistance to aviation fuels, oils, and temperature extremes. Compared with traditional cork or basic rubber gaskets, Viton provides significantly improved durability, maintaining flexibility over time without drying out, shrinking, or hardening.

The gasket is approximately 1/16 inch thick and is commonly used with rubber bladder-type fuel tanks in light aircraft. Its primary function is to ensure a reliable, fuel-tight seal between the fuel transmitter and the tank structure, helping prevent leaks and maintaining accurate fuel system integrity.

This part is FAA-PMA approved and is widely used as a direct replacement for OEM fuel transmitter gaskets in various Cessna aircraft models and similar installations.
