AN310-8 – Nut – Aircraft Castellated (Slotted) Nut

Aviation standard castellated (slotted) self-locking nut manufactured to AN310 specification, designed for use with drilled shank bolts, clevis bolts, and safety-wired fasteners in aircraft structural and control system assemblies. The nut is secured using a cotter pin inserted through the bolt hole and nut slots, providing positive mechanical locking in high-vibration environments where threaded locking alone is insufficient.

Application: Aircraft airframe, control system linkages, landing gear assemblies, and engine accessory installations where AN310-series castellated nuts are specified in OEM documentation

Function: Provides a mechanically locked fastening point when used with a drilled bolt and cotter pin, preventing loosening under vibration and cyclic loading
