MS35649-245B – Nut (Alt. to AN340-B4)

Aerospace castellated (slotted) nut designed for use with drilled shank bolts and cotter pin or safety-wire locking methods. It provides a positive mechanical locking solution for critical aircraft fastening points where resistance to vibration, cyclic loading, and loosening is required. Manufactured to military specification MS35649, it is interchangeable with AN340-B4 applications in certified aircraft assemblies.

Aircraft structural assemblies, control linkages, landing gear systems, engine accessories, and other aviation fastening points requiring castellated nuts with cotter pin or safety-wire retention

Function:
Provides a threaded fastening connection that is mechanically locked using a cotter pin or safety wire through the bolt hole, preventing rotation and loosening under vibration and operational stresses
