The 95061-031 is a Piper OEM precision airframe bushing used as a sleeve-type wear interface component in various fixed-wing aircraft assemblies. It is designed to be press-fitted into structural lugs, brackets, or torque link assemblies where a bolt or pin rotates, ensuring controlled movement while preventing direct metal-to-metal contact.
In typical Piper light aircraft applications, bushings in the 95061 series are widely used in landing gear torque links, control system pivots, and airframe hinge points. The 95061-031 specifically serves as a dimensional spacer and bearing surface that maintains alignment between moving structural parts while reducing friction and wear over repeated load cycles during taxi, takeoff, landing, and flight vibration.
The part is usually manufactured from bearing-grade bronze alloy or equivalent wear-resistant material, selected for its ability to absorb oscillating loads and provide a sacrificial wear surface. Instead of the airframe structure wearing, the bushing gradually wears and is replaced during maintenance, preserving the integrity of the surrounding components.
Because it is a flight-critical mechanical interface, even small wear can lead to increased play (“slop”) in control or landing gear systems. This may contribute to issues such as reduced steering precision, vibration, or increased stress on adjacent structural fittings.
Key features include:
Piper 95061-031 airframe sleeve bushing (OEM precision wear component)
Used in landing gear, control linkage, or hinge assemblies (model-dependent)
Provides low-friction pivot interface for bolts and pins
Material: typically bronze bearing alloy (SAE 660 or equivalent aviation grade)
Press-fit installation into structural lugs or torque link fittings
Reduces wear and maintains alignment in oscillating joints
Sacrificial wear component to protect airframe structure
Subject to inspection for elongation, scoring, and corrosion
Critical for maintaining landing gear stability and control system precision
Used across multiple Piper PA-series aircraft applications
