Spotting water in your fuel can be a tough task to tackle with the naked eye, but with Shell Water Detector Capsules, you can quickly and accurately detect even a small amount of moisture. The water detector is a capsule that attaches to a syringe. Use the syringe with the attached capsulel to draw out 5ml of jet fuel, then watch to see if the capsule changes color. If it goes from yellow to blue, you’ll know that there’s water in your fuel.

The Shell Aviation Fuel Water Detector Test was developed by Shell to address operational issues associated with ice formation in the fuel tank. The easy-to-use detector offers reliable testing and a simple, industry-standard test method that is easily incorporated into your routine. Because water can get into the jet fuel at any stage in the supply chain, it's recommended that the fuel is tested at every step along the way.
