The Sky-Tec 149-NLR/EC is a lightweight, high-torque 24-volt aircraft engine starter designed for Lycoming piston engines equipped with 149-tooth ring gears and left-hand (counter) rotation configurations. It belongs to Sky-Tec’s NL/ec “Extended Cranking” series and is engineered for demanding starting applications requiring extended duty cycles and reliable performance.

This FAA-PMA approved starter features Sky-Tec’s proprietary Kickback Protection System (KPS®) with a field-replaceable shear pin designed to minimize damage during engine kickback events. The inline, Bendix-free design improves reliability while reducing weight compared to legacy starter systems.
