The McFarlane Cowl Saver (P/N CS085X3G) is a continuous baffle seal material designed to improve engine cowling performance in aircraft. It is 3 inches wide and sold in 3‑foot lengths, providing a base material from which baffle seals can be formed to fit your specific application. This product is used to:
reduce friction and vibration transfer between the engine baffle and cowling, minimizing airframe vibration and damage to the cowl and firewall;
provide a low‑friction seal surface using a specialized material that is more effective than standard silicone or rubber;
enable easier cowling installation and help prolong the life of seals and fasteners.
Cowl Saver™ baffle seal material is often applied by trimming to shape and installing along engine baffle edges to create an improved seal between the engine compartment and the cowling opening.
