Shell DEX-COOL Extended Life is an engine coolant / antifreeze formulated using organic acid technology (OAT). It is designed to regulate engine temperature by transferring heat away from the engine while also providing freeze protection and corrosion resistance for cooling system metals such as aluminum, cast iron, copper, and solder alloys.

It is typically used in automotive and light-duty engine cooling systems with long-life service intervals (often up to 5 years / 250,000 km depending on OEM specification).
